What Does a Diabetic Do When They Get Arthritis?

It’s very rare one day you’ll wake up with arthritis, but it does happen in cases of those bitten by a tick with Lyme Disease. In other cases, it’s possible you can get a cold or the flu and then come down with arthritis as a consequence of that cold or the flu.

The best strategy to take when you suspect arthritis is to get an official diagnosis. Too many people suffer for months and sometimes years before they visit their doctor for a diagnosis. What a diagnosis does is give you the truth about what is going on with your joints that are affected.

A friend of mine was working a job in the janitorial field and she had plenty of “achiness” in her shoulder. She kept working and sometimes the pain was so severe that she cried while she worked. After about six months, she broke down and went to the doctor. He had her shoulder x-rayed and discovered she had a calcium deposit on her shoulder joint that was the size of a golf ball! No wonder why she had so much pain!

She had surgery and is now in recovery. The best part of all this is that after recovery, she will be free of pain and the arthritis.

Don’t self-diagnose your arthritis unless you are a doctor! Even if you have some medical background, such as a nursing degree or a nutrition degree, it’s not enough to diagnose your condition. There are over 100 different types of arthritis and many things to consider when a doctor is making a diagnosis of arthritis.

For example, some types of arthritis only affect one joint while others affect multiple joints. Some types of arthritis are symmetrical, while others are not. This means the ones that are symmetrical will affect both wrists, both knees, etc. Other types of arthritis are related to metabolic disorders such as diabetes. Some types are related to infections while others are related to rashes. So do get a proper diagnosis.
